This is an AAA Grade Holly Purple Chalcedony Designer Cut One of a Kind Cabochon. It is incredibly shiny and has amazing polish on all sides - even the back. This would be perfect for ring. This is Hand Cut by an American Lapidary, and the stone is mined in Nevada, USA. This is a really gorgeous semitransparent waxy light purple color with no variegation - or inclusions seen to the eye.

This Cabochon is natural, untreated, not color enhanced, and it has not been heated. They come from OLD stock from my friends personal collection who is also a gem cutter.

Chalcedony has a waxy luster, and may be semitransparent or translucent. It can assume a wide range of colors, but those most commonly seen are white to gray, grayish-blue or a shade of brown ranging from pale to nearly black. Deep Blues and Purples are the most rare. Holly Purple is not very commonly found, and when it has been found it is in small concentrations and the sizes of the stones are usually very small not exceeding more than 5 carats per stone.
